(2)Kentucky vs (1)North Carolina -3
A rematch of one of the best regular season games this season, these two blue-blooded programs will be meeting again with much more at stake. Kentucky won the first match-up 103-100 on the heels of Malik Monk’s 47 point performance. The Tar Heels are seeking revenge, but the Wildcats are the hottest team in the country coming in on a 14 game winning steak. Their young talented roster has finally put it together on the defensive end locking down opponents with their length and freakish athleticism. The talented duo of DeAaron Fox and Malik Monk continue to light it up on offense and Coach Cal, like clockwork, has his team hitting its stride at the right time. Unfortunately, they’re running in to perhaps the most talented team left in the tournament. When they’re on, North Carolina mixes its size up front with their great perimeter play and are basically impossible to stop on offense. Joel Berry and Justin Jackson can light it up from three and set up opportunities for their teammates. This has the makings to be another thriller, but I think North Carolina’s experience and depth will be too much to handle for the young Wildcats.
The Pick: UNC -3
