NCAA Softball Roundup

Another week of softball action goes by and the Florida State Seminoles remain on top. The Seminoles finished off the weekend with two shutout victories; 6-0 and 1-0 over Missouri. Despite the top spot remaining untouched, there has been some changes to this week’s top 25 list. Dropping to No.4, previously No.2, is the Auburn Tigers. In last weeks roundup I mentioned to keep an eye on the Auburn against No. 13 LSU series. In the three game series Auburn came out with two wins, both 5-4. LSU defeated the Tigers in a 8-0 Run Rule game. The Run Rule in softball is that if a team is winning by eight runs after five innings of play then the game is over. LSU outfielder Bailey Landry led the day in the 8-0 victory with three hits. Wisconsin softball makes an appearance in the top 25, coming in at number 23, after receiving votes last week. Conference play has yet to begin but leading the way in the Pac-12 is another team who moved up in the rankings. Oregon was listed at No. 4 last week but they made the jump to No.3 and remain the only team in the top 25 to be undefeated, 24-0.
