Rose Bowl: Georgia Bulldogs vs. Oklahoma Sooners
The Sooners won the Big 12 championship beating TCU handily, 41-17. Oklahoma has one of the top offenses in the country behind Baker Mayfield, love him or hate him he’s pretty darn good. Baker Mayfield cemented his legacy with all his on-field antics and later won the Heisman trophy.
Oklahoma is the only team in the playoff that ranks in the top 10 of total offense with 583.3 yards per game. They also put up 44.9 PPG, which is fourth in the nation. There’s no question they are built for a title chance on the offensive side of the ball but will their defense be able to handle Georgia’s rushing attack?
The Bulldogs had a great year beating Auburn in the SEC title game. Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm could be the first true freshman QB to win a National Championship since 1985. The Georgia Bulldogs have an unbelievable running attack with Nick Chubb and Sony Michel in the back field.
Georgia’s defense ranks third in scoring defense allowing 13.2 PPG and fourth in total defense allowing 270.9 yards per game. This defense has the ability to stop Mayfield, which no team has been able to do.
It’s hard to bet against Mayfield but the Georgia Bulldogs will be able to run the ball all over the field and take control of time of possession. Georgia will use their offense to play defense and come out on top.
Prediction: Georgia -2.5
Final: Georgia 31- Oklahoma 21
