Who won the Cavaliers, Celtics trade?
Easy. The Cavaliers definitely win this trade landing Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic, and the Nets 2018 unprotected 1st Round pick.
Isaiah Thomas was the heart and soul of that Boston Celtics team. Thomas averaged 28.9 PPG, 5.9 APG, and shot 46% from the field. Isaiah will be motivated in his contract year playing alongside the best player in the NBA, LeBron James.
Jae Crowder is a great physical defensive player and will be able to feed off LeBron. Crowder continues to improve offensively and will get a lot of open looks with this Cavaliers team.
The pairing of Gordon Hayward and Kyrie Irving won’t be bad but, let’s face it, Hayward was really their fourth option this offseason behind Paul George, Jimmy Butler, and Carmelo Anthony. But Danny Ainge struck out on all three. He’s also given up the Celtics best two defensive players this offseason in Avery Bradley and now Jae Crowder to the Cavaliers.
Kyrie is a great point guard but he wanted to be the go to guy. Some may argue that he still isn’t and Gordon Hayward will be in this Brad Stevens offense.
The Cavaliers remain the favorites out of the East and they definitely got better today, especially after ending up with the Nets 2018 1st round pick.
