Can Russ, PG, and Melo co-exist in OKC?
After an impressive offseason for the Oklahoma City Thunder and Sam Presti, can their big three co-exist? The simple answer would be – NO – but let’s look into it further.
Russell Westbrook has been impressive and has found his way after the KD era. His loyalty has shown to the city and he just inked a massive contract extension.
Westbrook isn’t just a scorer that can make everyone in an arena jump off their feet, he’s also a great passer and rebounder. That showed last year when he averaged a triple-double.
Paul George is an all around player that plays hard on both ends of the court, which is hard to find in the NBA today. Unlike Carmelo, George didn’t choose to go to OKC by waiving a no trade clause. George’s contract will expire after this season, so Thunder fans are hoping this team can make a push in the playoffs.
Recently, Carmelo Anthony decided to waive his no trade clause to go to Oklahoma City. Carmelo has played with Paul George and Russell Westbrook with Team USA but, obviously this will be different from Team USA.
These three will be able to play together. They’re going to be taking a lot of shots for this team but a lot of those shots will be open.
The play making ability is scary.
Carmelo Anthony is one of the most clutch scorers in the league and not far behind is Russell Westbrook. They will be able to co-exist because of Russell Westbrook. If they play unselfish and just want to win there’s no telling how good this team can be.
The Oklahoma City Thunder will make noise in the playoffs. They have three top defenders in their starting lineup and they have three of the top players in the league.
The bar is set high for this Thunder team but it will all start with communication, ball security, and ball movement.
